Disaffiliation
On Sunday, February 5, 2023, 71% of the members present voted to leave the United Methodist Church. This vote was affirmed by the Florida Annual Conference at a virtual conference on April 22, 2023. We were accepted as a Global Methodist Church (GMC) on May 15, 2023. We become a Global Methodist Church effective June 1, 2023. Until that time we remain a local church of the UMC and will continue to fully support her mission and ministries.
The ministries of Roseland Church are not affected. These include the Roseland Christian Preschool, hosting the Ecumenical Food Pantry, and supporting the Soul Cafe at Sebastian UMC.
All persons regardless of any human classification including sexual orientation remain welcome to worship and participate in the life and ministries of Roseland Church. Our mission remains the same: to build a great church through the Great Commission (Mark 12:30-31) and Great Commandment (Matthew 28:18-20).

The council presentation used at our April 16th town hall meeting where the recommendation to become a member of the Global Methodist Church was approved. On April 22 the FLUMC approved our disaffiliation effective June 1st.
