EXPENSES - SETUP/CLEANUP: Unless this is a budgeted ministry event, you will need to cover all costs and provide for setup and cleanup. If a custodian is desired or needed before/after your event, request it in the comments - you are responsible for costs. COVID-19: The novel coronavirus has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and agencies recommend social distancing. We cannot guarantee that you or family members will not become infected with COVID-19. By participating in programs, services, and activities at Roseland UMC, you agree on behalf of yourself and your children, to release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Roseland UMC, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to your participation in programs, services or activities. You understand and agree that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of this organization, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during,or after participation in any such program, service or activity. (CLICK HERE for release form) OUTSIDE GROUPS/INDIVIDUALS: The trustees and pastor will determine if an outside group may use our facilities and if there is a charge. No event may conflict with the mission, vision, and values of RUMC. Our campus is smoke-free. Alcohol and firearms are prohibited. SCHEDULING: Ministry functions take priority - other events are on a first come basis. We will attempt to accommodate all other requests prioritizing member requests. Once an event is scheduled we will make every effort to honor that commitment but reserve the right to modify or cancel any event. FOR PROFIT ACTIVITIES: RUMC is a religious not-for-profit, 501c3. Our facilities cannot be used for personal or business activities that produce a profit for an individual or unrelated organization. The sale of merchandise and publications can be considered the conduct of an unrelated trade or business if the items involved do not have a substantial relationship to the exempt purposes of the organization (IRS pub1828). Examples: Selling merchandise as an individual or company even if a portion is given to the church is not allowed. A fundraiser selling donated goods for the purposes of RUMC's mission or ministries is allowed as are booths purchased by vendors for church-sponsored events. |
